Seasonal Floral Design – What exactly does that mean you might be thinking? You’ve set the date of your wedding and have started dreaming about all the magical flowers that will adorn your day……what is in season you start to wonder?

Remember……when working with flowers, Mother Nature is the one that decides what will flower when – she’s also the one that provides the ideal growing conditions and we all know how unpredictable she can be!

So….here is just a little snippet ( by no means exhaustive!) of some of my favourite flowers and foliage’s by season – Enjoy!

Summer – Garden Roses, Hydrangea, Delphinium, Scabiosa, Cosmos, Tuberose, Dahlias, Lisianthus, Phlox, Chocolate Lace, Alstromeria, Feverfew, Orlaya, Rudbekia, Canterbury Bells 

Autumn – Chrysanthemums, Dahlias, Autumnal foliage, Garden roses, Stock, Delphinium, Lisianthus, Cosmos, Alstromeria, Feverfew.

Winter – Anemones, Andromedia (buds only), Poppies, Tulips, Blushing Bride, Stock, Alstromeria, Narcissus, Rannunculus (late), Hellebores (late)

Spring – Sweet Pea, Peonies, Trailing Jasmine, Mock Orange, Rannunculus, Flannel Flower, Garden Roses, Hellebores (early), Snapdragon, Delphinium, Alstromeria, Scabiosa, Feverfew, Nigella, Canterbury Bells
